2024 brings you the sixth Rosscarbery Surf Turf 'n' Tar on Saturday 27th of April 2024.
Well and truly part of the Running Calender, this event offers a unique running experience set in beautiful West Cork. With two distances to choose from, 10K or Half Marathon - there is a race to appeal to everyone.
To ensure the enjoyment and safety of all our participants, registration has been limited to 1,000 places between the two races (10k and Half Marathon)
Walkers are welcome in the 10K event only.
Set in Rosscarbery and surrounding areas, this unique multi -terrain race offer the participants an opportunity to run on Road, Beach , Forest and Trail with a backdrop of ever-changing vistas. This is a challenging event but the scenery alone is worth it. We have buy in from the whole community and we promise you will not get a warmer welcome at any other event.
This event is chip - timed!
UNIQUE POST RACE REFRESHMENTS
This event is much more than a running event and many come for the post race food which is a feast of delicious West Cork food including award winning produce like Rosscarbery Black Pudding, Fresh Fish Deli Fishcakes and Rosscarbery Strawberries. We are very grateful to all the local suppliers who support this race, it really is a showcase of West Cork's finest.

ALL PROFITS GO BACK INTO COMMUNITY
This event has been organised by Rosscarbery Business Association in conjunction with Rosscarbery Steam Runners AC. All proceeds from the event will be going back into the community, to enhance local amenities and promote the area. In the past proeeds have been used to fund the Christmas Lights in Rosscarbery Square and the floating tree on the Lagoon, donations to Rosscarbery Tidy Towns, Rosscarbery Meals on Wheels, purchase of a town defibrillator, funding towards Rosscarbery Playground Re-Development Fund, contribution to Rosscarbery & District Hostorical Society and contribution towards maintenace of Castlefreke public walks and many other local projects.

Early Bird (8 January 2024 - 31 January 2024)
10K Early Bird €25 per entry (+fees)
Half Marathon early Bird €35 per entry (+fees)
From 1 February 2024
10K €35 per entry (+fees)
Half Marathon €45 per entry (+fees)

A Finisher medal for all participants in both the 10K and Half Marathon races and a Technical Top for all 10K and Half Marathon entrants.
BIB COLLECTION
Registration /Collection will be open in the Function Room of the Celtic Ross Hotel, Rosscarbery on Friday 26th of April from 6pm until 9.30pm and on the morning of the event (27th of April) from 7am until 8am!
